Head Start is a national child development program for children from birth to age 5, which provides services to promote academic, social and emotional development, as well as providing social, health and nutrition services for income-eligible families. High School Equivalency Test (formerly GED)/Basic Reading and Math Skills
Free High School Equivalency (HSE) test classes and Literacy classes are available for anyone 17 years of age or older who is not currently enrolled in high school. Teachers and tutors can help you prepare for the HSE exam or improve your reading, writing, and math skills. Classes are held at Pattonville High School on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and at Faith Baptist Church, 11330 St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Students may begin at any time during the school year. All books and materials are provided free of charge. To enroll, please call (314) 415-4940.
Classes offer instruction in basic reading, math, English and GED preparation. Literacy education for low level students is also offered.
