Important Parent Information!
Dear Family, Welcome to a new school year! As we work together over the coming year, we can make both home and school places where your child can learn and grow.
In order to communicate with you on a regular basis, we will be sending home a daily information sheet in the homework folder. On this sheet students will indicate the kind of homework assigned and any events to remember each day. If you have any questions, this is an excellent vehicle that will be coming back and forth each day—so write questions, notes, etc. on this form. It is checked each day. please keep this information sheet in the folder so that we can have open communication.
I feel that one of the most important things you can do for your child is to spend time with him/her reading. Each night for homework we require your child to read for 20 minutes. This is part of our homework requirements—it is not optional. On the back of the sheet, there is a reading Log. The student is ask to complete the book title & time spent reading columns. I am asking that you complete only the Parent’s signature/initial section each night that the reading has been completed. Also, providing a comfortable, quiet place for your child to do homework without interruptions would be of great benefit.
I trust this communication form will help you and me to stay informed and involved with your child’s needs during this very important year of school. I am excited and happy to have the opportunity to work with you and your child over the coming school year. We are off to an Awesome start!
Sincerely, Mrs. Davenport
